Calls for art: 

Several members shared work, either new or in progress, and their experiences with commissions, good and otherwise.   Pat Teller showed a book of prints she had made at mpix.com, and Jane shared an app for showing work in room settings or with different frames.

We also talked about the use of the blog: www.yaagallerygroup.blogspot.com) Linda Williard ,  williard.art@gmail.com would like pictures from work sold, art hung in our venues, and info on exhibits around the area, such as Art of the State in Harrisburg.  Minutes of GG meetings are posted there, as well as date of the next meeting.

If you sign up, you will be asked to confirm about 1 week prior.  If you do not confirm, you will be removed from the list, and your spot given to one on a wait list.

* York Merchant (Wireworks):  artists may take their own work in any time.  Register with the manager (Kim Bergen).  Bring your own hammer and picture hook.

This venue will be month-by-month.  They handle sales, take 10% commission.

New meeting day:  4th Thursday every month.   Also, meetings will feature a time to share works in progress or new work.  It was the consensus that those who come to meetings or help with hangings should get priority for spaces available.  Members who show regularly should also share in the responsibility of helping to hang the shows.

NEXT MEETING:  Thursday, Oct. 26, 1:00 pm.  Bring new or work in progress to share!

Facebook administrator:  Jan Ivers submits posts to the office, who are supposed to take care of seeing that they are posted.

Tags:    Coordinators should indicate whether tags should be bottom or right-side hang.  Tags should be highlighted for either see attendant or contact the artist.

Reminder: Gallery Group User Site: location – 2nd computer in office; YAA-GG; documents available (e.g. tags, exhibit templates guidelines, etc.)

Note:  Art work that is exhibited by the Gallery Group is to be original, not prints of the original artwork.  

When removing sold art, first contact the coordinator to make arrangements for a replacement.
