Art of the State opened to the public at The State Museum on September 10, 2023 and will close Sunday, January 7, 2024.

The 56th Art of the State 2023 exhibition includes 86 works of art by 86 Pennsylvania artists from 29 counties of Pennsylvania. Finalists were selected from 1,915 entries from 559 artists. Works were submitted in the categories of Painting, Work on Paper, Photography & Digital Media, Sculpture and Craft.

until April 14.

a cup of your favorite beverage and a snack while you're there. She has a
nice selection of local food products, too!
The Gallery Group of
YAA was offered a one-time opportunity to display art on brand new walls in the
"micro-Gallery" at The York Merchant, Wireworks, 441 W. Market
Street, York.
Four artists
responded, with beautiful works for sale throughout the month of May.
Carol Little, Christine Kirk, Anita Williams and Mary Schultz hung their art.
"Eats and Art," an informal gathering for member artists at York Art Association, will take place on Friday, May 20 at 11:30 a.m in the gallery. Bring your own sandwich, and any art you wish to share, and join with other artists for a "Mutual Admiration (and Support) Society! All YAA members are welcome.
The Gallery Group will
meet following the gathering, at 1:00, for news of exhibits at our venues.
The Spring exhibit now hangs at Sarah's Snacks, 9 West Philadelphia Street in York. It looks great, so stop in and buy some delicious in-house granola, and other local snack products, including some interesting Happy Valley soup mixes!
The Gallery Group exhibit at Sarah's Snacks was hung last week and will remain in place until mid-March. Thanks to Christine Kirk, Bren Kindelsperger, Anne McFeely, Jan Ivers, Carol Little, and Gail Hurwitz for participating, and special thanks to Bren for helping with the hanging.
Visit and enjoy the art, have a cup of coffee, chai, or whatever pleases you. Also there is a nice selection of local foods to eat there or take home!
Congratulations to John Loucks on the sale of two watercolors from our last show at Alternative Therapies! Hopefully you are inspired by that and will contribute to this venue in the future. I have space typically for about 10 additional pieces.
